Claim Note Reference Code and Claim Note Text
A new tab (Additional Info) has been added to the Insurance Information section of Demographics with options for Claim Note Reference Code and Claim Note Text. These fields are to be used for additional claim information contained in the Service Loop (2300 NTE Segment) on electronic claims (ANSI), and box 19 of the printed CMS 1500 form.
To access these new fields, locate a chart and open Demographics. Navigate to the Insurance information tab, then locate the new Additional Info tab.
The Claim Note Reference Code field is a dropdown box. Click to open available options, then make a selection. The Claim Note Text is a free-text field. You can type the text to appear on the claim within this field.
No other changes are necessary. Exit Demographics.
In the Billing/Productivity Report, after your claim has been prepped for submission, the Claim Note Text will be contained within the Service Loop 2300 NTE Segment (as highlighted below) for electronic claims.
And in box 19 of the CMS 1500 for paper-submitted claims.
