1. From the Chart Face, click the Nursing Progress Note.
2. From the Nursing Progress Note, click the Enter VO Meds button.
3. Enter the medication information and then click the VO checkbox (circled below). If you have multiple medications to add, you may do so before clicking the VO checkbox. This will especially be helpful if the same clinician has made all or most of the orders.
4. In the Verbal Order popup window, indicate the doctor that gave the verbal order
If you chose to add all medications, you will see this popup asking if you want to mark all as verbal orders.
5. You will then receive the Read Back popup window.
6. The VO checkbox and RB checkbox will now be checked.
7. The TR (Transcribe) checkbox is used to indicate that a doctor wrote the order and a nurse entered it into the system, rather than it being communicated verbally.
In the Transcribe popup window, indicate the doctor that gave the order
7. Don't forget to compile to save the medication additions. If you chose for the medication(s) to show on your progress note, the order will show.
Approving Verbal Orders
1. A provider can approve their verbal orders by clicking the VO(s) Waiting button in the upper-left of the Chart Room. If there are no verbal orders needing your approval, the button will indicate as such.
2. Once there, click the blue arrow button to the right of the verbal order.
3. The Verbal Order Approval window will appear where you can do the following:
A. Review the patient's verbal order(s).
B. Review changes only.
C. Review the patient's full Clinical Order Sheet.
D. Print the patient's Clinical Order Sheet.
E. Approve the verbal order(s).
Removing Verbal Orders
1. Navigate back to the of the Nursing Note the verbal order(s) originate from.
2. Click the Enter VO Meds button in the lower-right.
3. Click the VO checkbox.
4. In the Verbal Order popup window, click the Clear button. Then click the button to close the Medication Entry window.
5. Make any additional desired changes to the note and then click the button.
