How to Reconcile Medications

Overview

Medication reconciliation ensures that clients receive the correct medications at all points of care. ICANotes+ allows you to mark medications as reconciled, which will then appear on the compiled note.

Step 1: Access a Note

1. Open ICANotes+.
2. Navigate to a note that allows you to prescribe medications (e.g., Progress Note).
   

Step 2: Open the Medication List

1. In the Medications section, click the Enter button.
2. The Medication List tab will appear.
   

Step 3: Mark Medications as Reconciled

1. Locate the medication(s) that need reconciliation.
2. Select the Medication Reconciled checkbox.
   

Step 4: Compile and Preview the Note

1. Click the Compile and Preview button.
2. Review the compiled note to verify that the reconciliation status appears.
   

Step 5: Confirm Reconciliation

1. Locate the section in the compiled note where it states that "medication reconciliation has been done."
2. Ensure that the information is correct before finalizing the note.
