[Rcopia4] DrFirst Personal Medication Record - Text Reminders

DrFirst now allows you to send a text message confirmation to patients after sending a prescription to the pharmacy through DrFirst. This feature integrates seamlessly and automatically without impeding your e-prescribing workflow.

Upon receiving the text message, your patients can choose to visit a secure, HIPAA compliant site to:
  1. Review their new prescriptions
  2. Confirm pharmacy details
  3. Check drug prices
  4. Update their medication list
  5. Set medication reminders

Here are the FAQ’s

If you prefer not to send the text message(s) to patients, there is a setting to control this feature. Please note, a user with administrative access (specific to DrFirst) will have the ability to see and make this change.

Enter DrFirst via any of the access points within ICANotes (Chart Room, patient Demographics, prescribing progress note) and from the top left menu, click to go to Settings

Go to Location settings

Scroll down to the Prescription section and locate the option “Enable Patient Notifications via SMS text”

Click in the dropdown field to change the setting from YES to NO. Save your changes.

In the Review Prescription window when prescribing, you will no longer see this option at the top right of the window:

Instead, the area will merely be grayed out
