Revoking Client Portal Access

Overview

Practice users can revoke a client's access to the Client Portal. After access is revoked, the client cannot sign in to the Client Portal until access is activated again.

Revoke Client Portal Access

  1. Open the client's chart.
  2. Select the Communications tab.
  3. Expand the Client Portal accordion.
  4. In the Chart Owner section, select the three-dot menu (⋮).
  5. Select Revoke Access.
  6. In the confirmation message, select Revoke Access.

A success message appears when the client's portal access is revoked.







Activate Client Portal Access

After access is revoked, the Chart Owner section displays a No Portal Access tag.

To activate client portal access:

  1. In the Client Portal section, select Activate Client Portal Access.
  2. Follow the prompts to activate access.

The client can sign in to the Client Portal after access is activated.



Client Notification Email

When client portal access is activated, the client receives an email notification informing them that access has been granted.

The email includes:

  • A notification that client portal access has been activated.
  • A link to the Client Portal.
  • Instructions to sign in using existing portal credentials.

If the client already has a portal account, they can use their existing credentials to sign in after access is activated.





FAQs

Can I activate client portal access after it has been revoked?
Yes. Select Activate Client Portal Access in the Client Portal section of the client's chart and follow the prompts to restore access.

Does revoking client portal access delete client information?
No. Revoking access only prevents the client from accessing the Client Portal. Client information and portal data remain available in the system.

Can the client access the Client Portal after access is revoked?
No. After access is revoked, the client cannot sign in to the Client Portal until access is activated again.

What happens after client portal access is activated?
The client receives an email notification that access has been granted. The email includes a link to the Client Portal and instructions to sign in using existing portal credentials.
