Specify As Directed Rx in Order Note

Specify As Directed Rx in Order Note

We have added a new group rule, Specify As Directed Rx in Order Note, which allows for medications ordered via the MAR to be administered only on specified days and times of the week. The group rule Specify As Directed Rx in Order Note must be enabled by authorization of your Security Administrator to access this new feature.

Starting from a prescribing note, enter the Medication work areas

When building the medication order, in the Timing field select the option As Directed – See Order Note

In the Order Note field (following VO/RB), when you click into the field with your mouse and As Directed – See Order Note is specified within Timing, the new ‘As Directed’ Order Note Entry window will appear, allowing for more specificity as to administration

For example, this medication order is set to administer Tuesday and Thursday at 0800 and 1700 hours. Additional remarks, if entered, will be included within the text of the medication order. Click the Preview button to see what the timing of the order will look like:

Click Done to return to the medication work areas and confirm the timing order

The specific timing order is now entered into the Order Note field

Continue order any medications as necessary, using the As Directed – See Order Note timing option to utilize the custom settings as needed. The timing specification, as well as any remarks, if entered, will be visible within the medication work areas…

And will reflect accordingly in the MAR (in addition to the MAR Schedule)

As well as the Clinical Order Sheet
