PDMP in ICANotes+

Overview

The Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) in ICANotes+ integrates with Bamboo Health to provide multi-state prescription monitoring. This allows providers to access a 12-month opioid prescription history and make informed prescribing decisions. The data includes the drug information, prescriber and pharmacy information along with dates and other relevant data metrics to assist providers in controlled prescribing decisions and medication reconciliations.

ICANotes+ integrates seamlessly with Bamboo Health via DAW Systems (ScriptSure). Please notify Bamboo Health that this integration is already in place with DAW Systems (ScriptSure).

Step 1: Register for Bamboo Health

To access PDMP reports, you must create an account with Bamboo Health.

1. Check participation

   • View the list of participating state PMPs: List of State PMPs.
   • If your state is not listed, fill out the form on the right side of this page to receive updates.
   • If your state is listed, proceed to Bamboo Health Registration.

2. Create an account

   • Click Create an Account (top right).
   • Complete Profile Information (name, email, phone, job title, etc.) and click Save & Continue.

3. Provide Organization Details

   • Enter general information (facility locations, number of hospitals, pharmacists, physicians, etc.).
   • Use 0 for any fields that do not apply.

4. Select Vendor

   • Choose DAW SYSTEMS (SCRIPTSURE) as the software vendor.
   • Enter Software Version V3.

5. Choose Product Options

   • Expand your state to view available options.
   • Select Prescribers and/or Pharmacies as needed.
   • Review pricing and enter the required number of licenses.
   • Click Save & Continue and complete the payment agreement.

Step 2: Access PDMP Reports in ICANotes+

Once you have registered and entered your credentials in ICANotes+/ScriptSure, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to ScriptSure in ICANotes+.
2. Click VIEW PMP REPORT.
3. If the report is available, it will open in a separate window.
4. If the report is unavailable, a notification will be displayed.

Types of Reports

📌 Standard Report – Displays a patient’s prescription history.
📌 NarxCare Report – Includes risk metrics and additional prescribing insights.

Step 3: Cost of Bamboo Health PDMP

• Many states do not charge for Bamboo Health access (state-funded).
• For states that require payment, costs typically range from $50 to $300 per provider per year.
• NarxCare reports may have additional fees.
• All payments are made directly to Bamboo Health during signup.

🔹 State-funded PDMP Access (No Cost): CA, CO, GU, HI, IL, KY, MD, MHS, MS, NE, NY, PA, RI, SD, TX, UT, VT, WA, WI, WY.
🔹 Paid PDMP Access: Some states require providers to pay directly during registration.
