v8.5 Release Notes (Release Date: June 2, 2025)

Overview 

ICANotes+ version 8.5 brings new features and improvements to enhance functionality and user experience.  

The New In-app Messaging Feature

The new In-app Messaging feature allows practice users to send internal messages to other users within the practice. When a new message is received, a notification bubble appears, displaying the number of unread messages. Users can reply to or forward messages as needed. They can also print or delete messages. Additionally, users can map messages to the appropriate client if required. Custom folders can be created to categorize messages, helping users organize their inbox efficiently. The system also allows users to move messages between folders.

Key Features

The In-app Messaging module includes the following features:

1. Compose new messages
   
2. Reply to or forward messages
   
3. Print messages
   
4. Delete messages
   
5. Create custom folders
   
6. Move messages to custom folders
   
7. Map messages to client records (accessible only if the user has client access per Caseload Security settings)

This release includes In-app Messaging. In-app Reminders are planned for a future update.

New Permissions Added for Productivity and Timely Filing Reports

You can now control access to financial data by assigning permissions for the Productivity Report and Timely Filing Report. These new permissions are available in the Roles and Permissions section under Practice Settings.

To assign or remove access,

1. From the left sidebar, select Settings.
   
2. Go to Practice Settings > Roles and Permissions.
   
3. Create a new role or edit an existing role.
   
4. Expand the Reports section.
   
5. Locate and configure the following new permissions:
   
1. Access the Productivity Report
   
2. Access the Timely Filing Report

These permissions are granted by default to all existing users.

To restrict access, you must manually update the roles.
