Creating a Note from an Appointment
Overview
When scheduling an appointment in the calendar, you have the option to create a note directly from the appointment. This ensures that the note is automatically linked to the appointment, streamlining documentation.
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to create a note from a scheduled appointment, select the appropriate note type, and manage the appointment linkage if needed.
Step 1: Open the Scheduled Appointment

Navigate to the Calendar section.

Locate and click on the scheduled appointment slot to open the Session Details screen.
Step 2: Enable the Start Note Option

In the Session Details screen, select the Start Note from Appointment checkbox.

The Note Type dropdown will appear.

Step 3: Select the Note Type and Save

Click the Note Type dropdown.

Choose the desired note type from the available options, such as:
Quick Note
Case Management
Couples/Family Therapy
Progress Note
SOAP Note
Complete Evaluation
Discharge Summary
Clinical Summary
ASAM
Click Save to create the note.
The system will redirect you to the newly created note.
Step 4: Verify the Linked Appointment
Step 5: (Optional) Change the Linked Appointment

If you want to link the note to a different appointment, click Change Appointment.

A screen will appear displaying all the client's appointments.

Select the desired appointment and click Save.
