[Rcopia4] Adding a Soft Token

Adding a Soft Token

Instructions for downloading a soft token onto your cell phone (the soft token must be used on a separate device than the one you are using to submit the electronic prescription):

Here is the link for downloading a soft token:  https://vip.symantec.com/

1.  Click the  button.       Select the VIP Access you need and follow the instructions to download.

2.  After the app has downloaded to your phone, access DrFirst within ICANotes from any access point (Chart Room, Demographics, prescribing progress note). From the Settings menu at the top left, go to Utilities

Then Token Management

Alternatively, Logical Access Control can be completed outside of ICANotes , go to https://ui.epcsdrfirst.com/pob/login page.

3.  You will then be prompted to log in to your EPCS account. Simply enter your NPI and signing passphrase. Then click Next.

4.  Next, you will see a screen displaying your name, NPI, and current active tokens to the right. To add a new token, click the "Manage Devices" link.

5.  You will then be prompted to address five required fields:

Device Issuer:  This is simply the manufacturer of the token you wish to add (example: "Verisign" is the manufacturer of the smartphone application).

Device Type:  Choose the type of token you are adding. The Experian-issued "fob" is considered a "hard token"; any OTP application working from a phone/tablet/other electronic device is considered a "soft token".

Device Name:  Give your token a name to distinguish it from any other tokens you may have (i.e., "Dr. Bob's second token", "iPhone EPCS token", etc).

S/N or Credential ID:  This will be found on the back of a hard token. For a soft token, this should display on screen.

OTP Pin:  Simply generate a one-time pin using the device you wish to add to your account.

6.  Once you have address all of these fields, click the Save button to finalize the addition of your new token.
