Time Based Units Administration
When enabled, the group rule "Automatic time Based Units" will place a new TBU button on the Service Code Short List in group level Settings and Directories > Service/Mod Codes. This button opens a new interface for adding, editing, and deleting rules relating to time-based units. Security Administrators can contact ICANotes Support to have this group rule enabled for their account.

Click on TBU to open the Time Based Units Rules window:

Definitions
- Minutes per Unit: Amount of time, in whole minutes, equal to one unit. E.g., 15 minutes per 1 Unit
- Half Unit: Minutes per Unit divided by two & rounded up if there is a remainder greater than zero. E.g., 15/2 = 7 r 1=8
- Total Units: Total amount of units applied via a Time Based Units Rule as calculated via the following formula:
- Rounding: One of four methods by which remainders are handled when calculating Total units for a Procedure Code
- None: Any remainder is ignored. E.g., 53/15 = 3 r 8 = 3
- Any: Any remainder greater than zero is rounded up. E.G. 53/15 = 3 r 8 = 4
- Inclusive: Any remainder equal or greater than a Half Unit is rounded up. E.g., 53/15 = 3 r 8 = 4 (Half Unit = 8)
- Exclusive: Any remainder greater than a Half Unit is rounded up. E.g., 53/15 = 3 r 8 = 3
