Adjusting Screen Resolution in Windows and macOS
Overview
This article explains how to adjust display resolution and scaling on Windows and macOS so ICANotes+ appears clearly and elements align correctly. Follow the step-by-step instructions for your operating system. Use the recommended settings when possible to avoid layout issues in ICANotes+.
Steps to Change Screen Resolution in Windows 10 and Windows 11
Right-click an empty area on your desktop and select Display settings.

Under Scale and layout, adjust Scale to 100% or 125% (or 150% on high‑resolution displays). Test ICANotes+ after each change.
Under Display resolution, select the resolution labeled (Recommended). ICANotes+ recommends 1368 x 1024 or higher.

If Windows prompts you to sign out to apply scaling changes, sign out and sign back in.
Open ICANotes+ and confirm that menus, buttons, and fields display correctly. If elements appear too large, too small, or overlap, adjust the scale again and retest.
For multi‑monitor setups, select the specific monitor at the top of the Display settings page before making changes.
Steps to Change Screen Resolution in macOS
Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner and choose System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions).

Select Displays.
For Retina displays: under Resolution, select Default for display (Best for display).

For non-Retina displays: choose the highest resolution that fits comfortably and provides readable text.
Close System Settings and open ICANotes+ to confirm the appearance. Re-adjust if elements are too large or too small.
If you use multiple monitors, repeat steps for each monitor.
macOS additional suggestions
On macOS Ventura and Sonoma, System Settings shows a visual preview when you hover scaled options — use that preview to choose the best fit.
If UI elements appear blurry, restart your Mac after changing settings or toggle Default for display and back to scaled to refresh the display.
