Allow Notifications in ICANotes+

Allow Notifications in ICANotes+

Overview

This article provides step-by-step instructions for allowing browser-level notifications in ICANotes+. Enabling these notifications ensures you receive real-time alerts without needing to refresh the page. This permission applies only to this ICANotes+ website, and is necessary for proper functionality of ICANotes+. Notifications may include client-related actions—such as when a client accepts an invitation or completes a form—as well as important system messages like appointment updates, billing alerts, or task assignments. Currently, ICANotes+ uses only website notifications and does not use any system-level notifications (e.g. Windows Notification center) that may be offered by browsers.

Notification permissions granted to a website will remain intact for as long as a user consistently interacts with the site. However, after a period of inactivity (managed by browser vendor, typically weeks to months) the permission may be revoked, and you would want to re-enable notifications following these steps. ICANotes+ will always remind you to do this when you login if the Notifications permission is not granted in your browser.

The instructions in this article cover supported browsers on both Windows and macOS platforms.  As a reminder, ICANotes+ requires Chromium based browsers to function correctly, such as Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Samsung Internet.
